{"id":4497,"date":"2015-01-14T06:32:30","date_gmt":"2015-01-14T11:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4497"},"modified":"2015-01-14T06:32:30","modified_gmt":"2015-01-14T11:32:30","slug":"obama-declares-war-on-extremism-are-you-an-extremist-according-to-his-definition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4497","title":{"rendered":"Obama Declares War On \u2018Extremism\u2019 \u2013 Are You An \u2018Extremist\u2019 According To His Definition?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/theeconomiccollapseblog.com\/archives\/obama-declares-war-extremism-extremist-according-definition\" target=\"_blank\">Obama Declares War On \u2018Extremism\u2019 \u2013 Are You An \u2018Extremist\u2019 According To His Definition?<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Do you know what an \u201cextremist\u201d is?\u00a0 In the wake of the horrible terror attacks on the offices of Charlie Hebdo in France, Barack Obama is speaking very boldly about the need to win the war against \u201cextremists\u201d, and he has announced plans to host a major global summit on \u201cextremism\u201d next month.\u00a0 And on the surface that sounds great.\u00a0 But precisely how are we supposed to determine whether someone is an \u201cextremist\u201d or not?\u00a0 What criteria should we use?\u00a0 As you will see below, your definition of an \u201cextremist\u201d may be far, far different from the definition that Barack Obama is using.\u00a0 When you do a\u00a0<a title=\"Google search\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/#q=what+is+an+extremist\" target=\"_blank\">Google search<\/a>, you will find that an \u201cextremist\u201d is defined as \u201ca person who holds extreme or fanatical\u00a0<strong>political or religious views<\/strong>, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action.\u201d\u00a0 According to\u00a0<a title=\"Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Extremism\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia<\/a>, \u201cextremism\u201d is \u201c<strong>an ideology (particularly in politics or religion), considered to be far outside the mainstream attitudes of a society<\/strong>\u00a0or to violate common moral standards.\u00a0 Extremism can take many forms, including\u00a0<strong>political, religious and economic<\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0 Please notice that neither of those definitions uses the word violence.\u00a0 In this day and age, you can be considered an \u201cextremist\u201d simply based on what you believe, and as you will see later in this article there are now tens of millions of Americans that are considered to be \u201cextremists\u201d and \u201cpotential terrorists\u201d according to official U.S. government documents.<\/p>\n<p>When you use the word \u201cextremist\u201d, you may have in your mind a picture of ISIS fighters or the terrorists\u00a0<a title=\"from the Charlie Hebdo massacre\" href=\"http:\/\/endoftheamericandream.com\/archives\/the-charlie-hebdo-massacre-shows-how-exceedingly-vulnerable-our-society-is-to-islamic-terror\" target=\"_blank\">from the Charlie Hebdo massacre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But for elitists such as Barack Obama, the word \u201cextremist\u201d has a much broader meaning.\u00a0 In recent years, it has become a code word for those that do not have an \u201cenlightened\u201d view of the world.\u00a0 If your views on politics, religion or social issues are extremely different from the liberal, progressive views of \u201cthe mainstream\u201d (as defined by the mainstream media and by \u201cmainstream\u201d politicians such as Barack Obama), then they consider you to be an extremist.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;click on the above link to read the rest of the article&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obama Declares War On \u2018Extremism\u2019 \u2013 Are You An \u2018Extremist\u2019 According To His Definition?
