For a good run down of how terrible these new rules are look anywhere on the internet but this article&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/the-end-of-all-thats-good-and-pure-about-the-internet-1826963763\">at Gizmodo&nbsp;<\/a>(who I hope doesn\u2019t charge me a link tax for doing so!) will do.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would also watch this video from Dave Cullen, a resident of Ireland, i.e. the EU, as to what he thinks this means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/J4DhecQQjdM?version=3&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave makes a number of fantastic points about the ramifications of Articles 11 and 13 which I will not dispute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrogance and pig-headedness of EU MEPs to push this through without even listening to arguments for Amendments speaks volumes as to how much this legislation was bought and paid for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And you know who was doing the buying. The same folks currently behind destroying Brexit \u2014&nbsp;<em>The Davos Crowd<\/em>. I don\u2019t want to put too fine a point on this now, since I\u2019ve covered all this recently (<a href=\"https:\/\/tomluongo.me\/2019\/03\/20\/censorship-government-control-christchurch\/\">here<\/a>) and in the past (<a href=\"https:\/\/tomluongo.me\/2017\/12\/16\/net-neutrality-the-end-of-googles-biggest-subsidy\/\">here ).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Controlling\u00a0<\/strong><em><strong>The Wire<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there are very valid reasons why this push for control of information flow from the EU is yet another example of their desperations to keep control of what&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tomluongo.me\/2018\/11\/18\/can-we-escape-control-of-the-wire\/\">I\u2019ve in the past called&nbsp;<\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/tomluongo.me\/2018\/11\/18\/can-we-escape-control-of-the-wire\/\">The Wire:<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short,\u00a0<em>The Wire<\/em>\u00a0is the main conduit through which we communicate with each other. Even money is\u00a0<em>The Wire.<\/em>\u00a0What are prices if not information about what we are willing to part with our money in exchange for?<br>Without\u00a0<em>The Wire<\/em>\u00a0modern society fails.
