But what is really behind this deterioration in relationship, and what are its implications?<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__text text \">\n<p>Following the brutal murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, western media and various entities, including the CIA, appear to have turned their back on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS). In response to the scandal, the Guardian released a video which its celebutante, Owen Jones,<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/owenjones84\/status\/1052264419965702144?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> captioned<\/a><em>\u201cSaudi Arabia is one of the biggest threats on Earth. Time to stop propping up its repulsive regime.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Guardian was not alone in its condemnation.<em> \u201cIt\u2019s high time to end Saudi impunity,\u201d<\/em> wrote Hana Al-Khamri in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/indepth\/opinion\/high-time-saudi-impunity-181015144254507.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Al-Jazeera<\/a>. <em>\u201cIt\u2019s time for Saudi Arabia to tell the truth on Jamal Khashoggi,\u201d<\/em> the Washington Post\u2019s Editorial Board<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/global-opinions\/its-time-for-saudi-arabia-to-tell-the-truth-on-jamal-khashoggi\/2018\/10\/10\/fadc952e-ccb7-11e8-a3e6-44daa3d35ede_story.html?utm_term=.cf5ccc1c0cc5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> argued<\/a>. Politico<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/the-tragedy-of-journalist-jamal-khashoggi-us-saudi-arabia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> called<\/a> it <em>\u201cthe tragedy of Jamal Khashoggi.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Even shadowy think-tanks like the Council on Foreign Relations<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfr.org\/article\/why-jamal-khashoggis-disappearance-will-haunt-saudi-government\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> (CFR)<\/a> and the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticcouncil.org\/blogs\/new-atlanticist\/saudi-silence-on-khashoggi-must-end\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Atlantic Council<\/a> released articles criticising Saudi Arabia in the wake of Khashoggi\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>A number of companies began<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/companies-saudi-arabia-conference-khashoggi-disappearance-153deaec-1282-4723-91f2-2ea8998d5fe2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> backing away<\/a> from Saudi money after the journalist\u2019s death, including the world\u2019s largest media companies such as the New York Times, the Economist\u2019s editor-in-chief Zanny Minton Beddoes, Arianna Huffington, CNN, CNBC, the Financial Times, Bloomberg, Google Cloud CEO, just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>The CIA concluded that MBS personally ordered Khashoggi\u2019s death, and was<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2018\/11\/16\/politics\/cia-assessment-khashoggi-assassination-saudi-arabia\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> reportedly <\/a>quite open in its provision of this assessment.<a href=\"https:\/\/news.un.org\/en\/story\/2018\/10\/1023722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Antonio Guterres<\/a>, secretary-general of the UN, also took time out of his schedule to express concern over Saudi Arabia\u2019s confirmation of the killing.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The real reason Western media &amp; CIA turned against Saudi MBS Mohammed bin Salman (r) and Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit Conference Centre in Buenos Aires \u00a9 Global Look Press \/ Ralf Hirschberger Forces are aligning against Saudi Arabia\u2019s Crown Prince, lead by elements within the CIA and strong players in the mainstream media.
