Unwanted visitors would be added to the list when a homeowner tags them as not authorized. Other people could be added to the database because they are a convicted felon or registered sex offender, according to the application. Residents may also alert neighbors of a suspicious person\u2019s presence.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because who doesn\u2019t want to create a private watchlist of your friends and neighbors?<\/p>\n<p>Amazon is not the only company that wants you to spy on your neighbors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nest.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Nest Hello<\/a>\u00a0is Google\u2019s facial recognition doorbell that can identify anyone and store their images to the cloud. Homeowners are required to sign up for a <a href=\"https:\/\/nest.com\/cameras\/nest-aware\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Nest Aware subscription<\/a> that ranges anywhere from $5.00 to $30.00 a month.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Zs1ya4nOqbU\" width=\"777\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlo.com\/en-us\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Arlo Audio Doorbell<\/a>, August\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/august.com\/products\/august-doorbell-cam-pro\" rel=\"noopener\">Doorbell Cam Pro<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skybell.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Skybell<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.netatmo.com\/en-us\/security\" rel=\"noopener\">Netatmo<\/a>\u00a0are also profiting from turning neighbors into government spies.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/news\/orange\/os-orlando-ring-doorbell-20180501-story.html\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> in the <em>Orlando Sentinel<\/em> revealed that police have created a private neighborhood network of 10,000 spying doorbells.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Orlando Police are hoping further access to the network of about 10,000 Ring users in Orlando will help the department solve burglaries, mail thefts and other crimes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">\n<div class=\"cmsubhead\">\n<p>\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police Use Facial Recognition Doorbells To Create Private Watchlist Networks Earlier this year, I reported that Amazon\u2019s spying Ring doorbells\u00a0are being installed everywhere and how everyone\u2019s privacy is at stake.
