{"id":4094,"date":"2015-01-05T11:36:15","date_gmt":"2015-01-05T16:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4094"},"modified":"2015-01-05T11:36:15","modified_gmt":"2015-01-05T16:36:15","slug":"ukraine-will-have-russian-gas-for-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=4094","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine Will Have Russian Gas, For Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Natural-Gas\/Ukraine-Will-Have-Russian-Gas-For-Now.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ukraine Will Have Russian Gas, For Now<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Kiev\u2019s payment of $150 million to the Russia\u2019s government-owned gas monopoly Gazprom will keep supplies flowing into Ukraine for at least the first quarter of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Gazprom said Dec. 31 that Ukraine\u2019s gas company, Naftogaz, had\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2014\/12\/31\/ukraine-crisis-russia-gas-idUSL6N0UF18S20141231\">paid in advance<\/a>\u00a0for 1 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, including 300 million cubic meters fuel it had paid for in December but had not used. That amount is to be shipped in January.<\/p>\n<p>Russia and Gazprom have not been shy about simply cutting off the flow of gas to Ukraine for non-payment. It did so in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/oilprice.com\/Latest-Energy-News\/World-News\/Russia-Halts-Talks-With-Ukraine-Over-Gas-Debt.html\">2006 and 2009 and again just last June<\/a>.
