When Fake Money Becomes Scarce<\/a><\/h3>\n

Remaining Focused<\/strong><\/p>\n

A rousing display of diversions this week assured the American populace was looking every which way but right under its collective nose.\u00a0 Midterm elections.\u00a0 White House spats with purveyors of fake news.\u00a0 The forced resignation of Attorney General Sessions\u2026<\/p>\n

\"\"Old drug warrior (otherwise recused) on his way home to Alabama\u2026<\/p>\n

Sideshows like these, and many more, offered near limitless opportunities to focus on matters of insignificance.\u00a0 Why stop to really understand what\u2019s behind a headline when hundreds of new headlines pop up by the minute?\u00a0 Why bother to try and figure things out when real thinking is such an inconvenience?<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, the S&P 500 jumped nearly 3 percent between market open Monday and market close Thursday.\u00a0 Clearly, the October mini-panic is now a distant memory.\u00a0 At this rate, we\u2019ll all be rich off stocks by the New Year.<\/p>\n

Yet while the mob stampeded from one distraction to the next, we remained focused on the real story: The outright pilfering of the nation\u2019s time, talent, and treasure.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t the story that\u2019s readily presented by the headlines.\u00a0 But it is readily evident for those willing to open their eyes and look around at the world before them.<\/p>\n

You see, the real story, the story that\u2019s being largely ignored, is three fold.\u00a0 Rising borrowing costs, a debt crisis, and price inflation are converging with unbearable consequences.\u00a0 You can\u2019t miss it.\"\"<\/a>The \u201cthank God it\u2019s over\u201d election celebration in the stock market. This rally is not likely to last. In fact, it could quite easily morph right back into a panic cycle. [PT]<\/p>\n

Fake Money<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U.S. Treasury, if you didn\u2019t know, will issue\u00a0$1.3 trillion<\/a>\u00a0in new debt in 2018.\u00a0 This represents a 146 percent increase in new federal government debt issuance from 2017.\u00a0 By our rough estimation, this number will significantly increase in 2019 and again in 2020.<\/p>\n
