American Politics Is Now Just Civil War by Other Means<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n

In the wake of the sending of bomb-like devices of uncertain capability to prominent critics of US President Donald Trump and of a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue (both Trump\u2019s fault<\/a>, of course) \u2013 plus a migrant invasion approaching the US through Mexico \u2013 there have been widespread calls for toning down harsh and \u201cdivisive\u201d political rhetoric. Of course given the nature of the American media and other establishment voices, these demands predictably have been aimed almost entirely\u00a0against Trump and his Deplorable supporters<\/a>, almost never against the same establishment that unceasingly vilifies Trump and\u00a0Middle American radicals<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0literally Hitler<\/a>, all backed up by the evil White-Nationalist-in-Chief,\u00a0Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Those appealing for more civility and a return to polite discourse can save their breath. It\u2019s\u00a0much, much too late for that<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When Trump calls the establishment media the enemies of the people, that\u2019s because they \u2013 together with their\u00a0passive NPC drones<\/a>\u00a0and active Antifa enforcers \u2013\u00a0are\u00a0enemies, if by \u201cthe people\u201d we mean the historic American nation. Trump\u2019s sin is that he calls them out for what they are.<\/p>\n

Trump didn\u2019t cause today\u2019s polarization, he only exacerbates it because he punches back. Good, may he continue to do so. Pining for a more well-mannered time in a country that belongs to another, long-gone era is futile.<\/p>\n

American politics is no longer about a narrow range of governing styles or competing economic interests. It is tribal. Today\u2019s \u201ctribes\u201d are defined in terms of affinity for or hostility to the founding American\u00a0ethnos\u00a0<\/em>characterized by European, overwhelming British origin (a\/k\/a, \u201cwhite\u201d); Christian, mainly Protestant; and English-speaking, as augmented by members of other groups who have totally or partially assimilated to that\u00a0ethnos\u00a0<\/em>or who at least identify with it (think of\u00a0Mr. Hamadura in\u00a0The Camp of the Saints<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n
