The INF Treaty was the beginning, in Reagan\u2019s mind, of the elimination of nuclear weapons from military arsenals.\u00a0The INF Treaty was chosen as the first start, because it did not substantially threaten the budget of the US military\/security complex\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Trump Administration however now wants to unilaterally exit the INF. \u201cSpeaking to reporters in Nevada, Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2018\/oct\/20\/trump-us-nuclear-arms-treaty-russia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2018\/oct\/20\/trump-us-nuclear-arms-treaty-russia\">said<\/a>: \u201cRussia has violated the agreement. They\u2019ve been violating it for many years and I don\u2019t know why President Obama didn\u2019t negotiate or pull out \u2026 We\u2019re going to pull out \u2026 We\u2019re not going to let them violate a nuclear agreement and do weapons, and we\u2019re not allowed to\u201d.
