And now in a move that&#8217;s sure to be seen by Russia as a major and intolerable provocation <strong>Ukraine has announced the start of joint military exercises involving NATO countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s been dubbed\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20181008-ukraine-launches-large-scale-air-exercises-with-nato-countries\">Clear Sky 2018 operation in the west of Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0kicked off on Monday and will center on <strong>air defense operations in order to &#8220;protect the airspace&#8221; from Russia<\/strong>. The war games will include the participation of the US military and several other NATO nations, including bordering nations Poland and Romania, as well as Britain and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine described the event as a\u00a0<strong>&#8220;multinational military exercise focusing on promoting peace and security&#8221;\u00a0<em>\u2014\u00a0<\/em>however, we highly doubt that it&#8217;s peace that will be the lasting result of this<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"caption caption-img\" role=\"group\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/Clear%20Sky%20exercise.jpg?itok=urApdoYK\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/Clear%20Sky%20exercise.jpg?itok=urApdoYK\" data-link-option=\"0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/Clear%20Sky%20exercise.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/inline_image_desktop\/public\/inline-images\/Clear%20Sky%20exercise.jpg?itok=urApdoYK 1x\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"c54fcf17-ddc2-4c48-a79b-23a1fb987d4e\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/a><figcaption><em>&#8220;Clear Sky 2018&#8221; began Monday.
