IRGC Commander Says Netanyahu Will\u00a0“Flee Into Sea,”\u00a0Should “Practice Swimming”<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

In a fiery message aimed at\u00a0Tel Aviv, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps deputy commander Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami issued a warning to\u00a0Israel,\u00a0Middle East-based source\u00a0Al Masdar News\u00a0<\/em>reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tell the prime minister of\u00a0the Zionist regime to\u00a0practice swimming in\u00a0the Mediterranean because soon you will have no choice but [to] flee into\u00a0the sea,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Salami said, speaking at\u00a0a rally in\u00a0Isfahan, central Iran on\u00a0Friday, according to\u00a0Fars News.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are not at\u00a0the level of\u00a0being a threat for\u00a0us; Hezbollah is enough for\u00a0destroying them,\u201d the commander added, speaking before\u00a0IRGC volunteers. Accusing Tel Aviv of\u00a0deceiving the world about\u00a0Iran, the senior officer accused Israel of\u00a0acting as\u00a0a \u201cpolitical mannequin\u201d in\u00a0the US shop window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Turning his ire toward\u00a0Washington, Salami charged the US with\u00a0spending $7 trillion on\u00a0wars in\u00a0the Middle East, adding that the US has been defeated with\u00a0each effort. \u201cWe do not have military bases anywhere, and our presence in\u00a0Syria is limited, which represents our values,\u201d he added, referring to\u00a0the source and scope of\u00a0Iran\u2019s regional influence.<\/p>\n

Salami also praised what he called the \u201cthunderous\u201d October 1\u00a0missile strikes\u00a0<\/a>against\u00a0ISIS in\u00a0Syria, which Iran launched in\u00a0retaliation to\u00a0the September 22 terrorist attack on\u00a0a military parade in\u00a0Ahvaz<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014<\/em>\u00a0a southwest city in Iran \u2014\u00a0<\/em>which left 25 people dead and dozens more injured.<\/p>\n

Traditionally rocky relations between\u00a0Iran and Israel hit new lows last week at\u00a0the UN General Assembly, with\u00a0the two countries\u00a0exchanging barbs<\/a>\u00a0over\u00a0Syria and Iran\u2019s alleged secret nuclear weapons program.<\/p>\n
