In a foreboding sign that the free expression of opinion on the internet\u00a0is too much of a threat\u00a0to the powerful elite of our society, the Anti-Defamation League is leading the charge in turning their own subjective\u00a0opinions on\u00a0\u2018hate speech\u2019 into the absolute rule of Internet law. Facebook<\/a>,\u00a0Twitter<\/a>,\u00a0Google<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Microsoft<\/a>, among others, are joining with the ADL to form a\u00a0Cyberhate Problem-Solving Lab<\/a>, the companies and the civil rights group said Tuesday. They\u2019ll exchange ideas and develop strategies to try to\u00a0curb hate speech and abuse<\/a><\/span>\u00a0on the companies\u2019 various platforms and across the internet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese companies have an added responsibility to do everything within their power to stop hate from flourishing on their watch,\u201d ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. \u201cWe look forward to tackling this pressing challenge together.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Like\u00a0Monika Bickert, Facebook\u2019s head of global policy, who said in a statement that \u201csome of the best minds in engineering will work alongside the ADL to help us rise to the occasion.\u201d What occasion?\u00a0The threat\u00a0of the power\u00a0that the proliferation of free speech on the internet is giving to\u00a0individual\u00a0human beings fighting for truth and justice.<\/p>\n
