{"id":37948,"date":"2018-09-18T18:48:25","date_gmt":"2018-09-18T23:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=37948"},"modified":"2018-09-18T18:48:25","modified_gmt":"2018-09-18T23:48:25","slug":"which-precious-metals-are-likely-to-be-better-investments-during-the-next-market-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=37948","title":{"rendered":"Which Precious Metals Are Likely To Be Better Investments During The Next Market Crash?"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header clearfix\">\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/srsroccoreport.com\/which-precious-metals-are-likely-to-be-better-investments-during-the-next-market-crash\/\">Which Precious Metals Are Likely To Be Better Investments During The Next Market Crash?<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix\">\n<p>The question on the minds of many investors, is which of the precious metals will be better investments during the next market crash?\u00a0 I should know because I receive this question in my email box quite often.\u00a0 So, I decided to test the price action of several metals and how each traded during a large market correction.<\/p>\n<p>This article will focus on the top four precious metals, gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.\u00a0 Even though Rhodium and other metals are considered precious, the ones listed above take the lion\u2019s share of the investment market.\u00a0 Furthermore, while platinum and palladium are purchased as investments, they have a much larger industrial component than gold or silver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As I have mentioned many times, gold and silver disconnected from the broader markets when the Dow Jones Index fell 2,000 points in the first six weeks of 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The two reasons I believe gold and silver jumped considerably as the markets sold off at the beginning of 2016 were:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Gold and Silver were extremely oversold, and the Commercial hedgers\u2019 short positions were at a low, thus very bullish<\/li>\n<li>Investors were extremely worried that the Dow Jones and markets were beginning a massive correction, so they moved into both gold and silver<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To explain why investors were spooked in 2016, we need to look at the following chart:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19234\" src=\"https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-Tops-2007-2015-2018.png?x65756\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-Tops-2007-2015-2018.png?x65756 961w, https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-Tops-2007-2015-2018-768x568.png?x65756 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"518\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"1553575617\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Typically during a major correction, the market makes several attempts at a top.\u00a0 In 2007, there were three tops made before the market finally came down in 2008.\u00a0 Then in 2015, we had three more tops and two large corrections.\u00a0 The reason investors\u2019 worry turned into fear at the beginning of 2016 was that the last top did not reach the previous 18,000 level.<\/p>\n<p>And this can be seen in the next chart:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-19233\" src=\"https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-2015-2016-Market-Corrections.png?x65756\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-2015-2016-Market-Corrections.png?x65756 957w, https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-2015-2016-Market-Corrections-768x576.png?x65756 768w, https:\/\/d3hxt1wz4sk0za.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Dow-Jones-2015-2016-Market-Corrections-320x240.png?x65756 320w\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"614783503\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Which Precious Metals Are Likely To Be Better Investments During The Next Market Crash?
