Investor\u2019s Warning: \u2018I\u2019m Nervous. We\u2019re Getting Closer To A MELTDOWN Scenario\u2019<\/a><\/h3>\n

According to investor\u00a0David Tice, who made a name for himself in running the Prudent Bear Fund before selling it to Federated Investors in 2008, the current market is dangerous.\u00a0 Tice was quoted as saying he\u2019s \u201cnervous\u201d because \u201cwe\u2019re getting closer to a meltdown scenario.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to CNBC<\/em>,<\/a>\u00a0Tice may be known as a \u201cpermabear\u201d, but\u00a0last December he said there was a 50 percent chance stocks<\/a>\u00a0would stage a 25 percent rally this year. So far in 2018, the\u00a0S&P 500\u00a0and\u00a0Dow\u00a0are both up 8 and 5 percent, respectively. The\u00a0Nasdaq\u00a0has rallied about 15 percent.\u00a0 But Tice did say: \u201cLonger term, the market is going to suck.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Tice,\u00a0the\u00a0struggling emerging markets could spark a contagion that could hit the United States. The\u00a0MSCI Emerging Markets Index\u00a0has lost more than 13 percent of its value this year as of Wednesday\u2019s close. \u201cYou look at emerging markets. There\u2019s a lot of trouble in emerging market currencies where we\u2019ve broken to new lows,\u201d Tice noted, as reported by CNBC.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody is into this market,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m worried about whether the economy could enter\u00a0a recession faster<\/a>\u00a0than a lot of people think.\u201d Tice also made a prediction about the inflation predicament based on the global picture. \u201cFrankly, I think there\u2019s fear of deflation picking up again,\u201d he said. \u201cI think that deflationary trend is likely to continue.\u201d He also pointed to frothy sentiment in the market, which is often perceived as a warning signal to Wall Street.<\/p>\n

Tice isn\u2019t the only economic expert that sees trouble on the horizon. Peter Schiff has been warning of a financial bubble collapse<\/a> for a few years now. And compounded\u00a0with the nation\u2019s rising debt and the American public\u2019s problem with debt,<\/a> the next \u201cmeltdown\u201d could be disastrous.<\/p>\n
