Dooms Growth Among &#8220;Haves&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Have Nots&#8221; Alike<\/a><\/h3>\n<div class=\"post-header\">\n<div class=\"post-header-line-1\">The global economic system is premised on growth, not just any growth, but growth where it matters (economically).\u00a0 However, population growth (the\u00a0foundation of economic growth)\u00a0among the high and upper middle income nations of the world is\u00a0rapidly winding down.\u00a0 As I have outlined previously, total births\u00a0have been\u00a0declining\u00a0among the combined high\/upper middle income nations since 1988 and now births are declining\u00a0everywhere\u00a0but among the low income nations of the world (<a href=\"https:\/\/econimica.blogspot.com\/2018\/07\/global-population-growth-ceased-in.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a>).\u00a0 Without growth among the importers of the world\u00a0with the income, savings, and\/or access to credit&#8230;there is no growth for exporters.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"post-body-7132640053367638776\" class=\"post-body entry-content\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\nThe high and upper middle income nations represent 49% of the worlds population but\u00a091% of global GNI (gross national income) and 89% of total global\u00a0energy consumption (as well as gross commodity consumption).\u00a0 The decades, or more properly, centuries of growth\u00a0among these wealthier under 65 year old\u00a0populations (that drove economic activity) will cease around 2022.\u00a0 All subsequent population growth will be among the 65+ year olds of the wealthier nations, particularly among the 75+yr\/old population\u00a0and the masses of the poor nations.\u00a0 The end of population growth and subsequent reversals in these wealthier nations is ushering in an era of economic and consumptive decline unlike the contemporary world has ever seen.<\/div>\n<p>FYR &#8211; The national income groupings are based on the World Bank Atlas method (detailed <a href=\"https:\/\/datahelpdesk.worldbank.org\/knowledgebase\/articles\/378832-what-is-the-world-bank-atlas-method\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a>) and listed in full at the articles end.\u00a0 High income nations have per capita incomes over $12k\/yr (and as\u00a0high as $80k\/yr) and upper middle nations have income per capita ranging from $12k\/yr to $4k\/yr.\u00a0 This is\u00a0compared with lower middle income nations\u00a0with per capita income ranging from\u00a0$4k\/yr to $1k\/yr and low income nations below $1k\/yr.\u00a0 All population data is based on UN data and medium variant forward looking estimates.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>\u2026click on the above link to read the rest of the article\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>End of Growth Among &#8220;Haves&#8221;
