A deeper and truer version of this question is:\u00a0<em>What\u00a0<\/em>rules the land? Is it the money (the aristocracy), or is it the people (the public,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/news\/2017\/09\/15\/liberals-dont-respect-nation-sovereignty.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/news\/2017\/09\/15\/liberals-dont-respect-nation-sovereignty.html\">the residents on that land<\/a>)? (For the interest of paleoconservatives, the issue of residents\u2019 citizenship will come later here, as \u201cimmigrants\u201d instead of as \u201ccitizenship\u201d; but our basic focus is not ethnicity\/nationality; it\u2019s\u00a0class: the money, versus the voters; not the natives, versus the foreigners.)<\/p>\n<p>In a democracy, the public rule \u2014 the people do \u2014 and it\u2019s on authentically a one-person-one-vote basis, and anyone who is a resident in that land can easily vote, just like anyone else who lives there, because only the residents there, during the specific time-period of the voting, are the ultimate decision-makers, over that land, and over its laws. This is what a democracy is: it\u2019s one-person-one-vote, and, in the political sense, it\u2019s total equality-of-rights and total equality-of-obligations \u2014 real and total equality-by-law: equal rights, and equal obligations,\u00a0<em>for all residents<\/em>. A democracy applies the same requirements to\u00a0<em>everyone<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This does not mean that individuals are equal in their abilities and in their needs, and so it\u2019s not a statement about the economy; it is purely a statement about the government \u2014 a political question. The economy is a separate matter, though it\u2019s highly dependent upon the government \u2014 the laws that are in place and enforced.
