The bank currently has a swath of Facebook accounts &#8212; which are regularly updated. &#8211;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-08-07\/unicredit-to-stop-using-facebook-for-advertising-over-ethics\">Bloomberg<\/a><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Facebook has come under intense scrutiny\u00a0for failing to safeguard user data amid the Cambridge Analytica data harvesting scandal, revealed in March by\u00a0<em>The Guardian<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The New York Times. <\/em>The data from up to\u00a087 million users, and possibly more, was found to have been &#8220;harvested&#8221; via the psychological profiling app &#8220;Thisisyourdigitallife&#8221; &#8211; which was created by two psychologists (one of whom\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/news\/2018\/mar\/18\/facebook-cambridge-analytica-joseph-chancellor-gsr\"><em>currently works for Facebook<\/em><\/a>), and was\u00a0specially designed to collect and share information.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Facebook&#8217;s attempts at damage control, UniCredit says they&#8217;re done with the social media giant &#8211; and there have been others. Unilever UV and Sonos Inc. have also threatened to pull ads.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In late July, <strong>Facebook\u2019s shares fell over 20 percent after second-quarter revenue showed the first signs of user disenchantment<\/strong> in the midst of public scandals over privacy and content.
