The rural, desperately poor region \u2013 long plagued by violence, armed rebellion, and criminal activity \u2013 is now at the center of a drama that underscores the dawning truth about our neighbor to the south: Mexico is fast becoming a failed state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; word-wrap: break-word;\">On September 26, students at the teachers\u2019 college rallying against cuts to their budget\u00a0<a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; word-wrap: break-word; color: #0089c4;\" href=\"http:\/\/latino.foxnews.com\/latino\/lifestyle\/2014\/10\/18\/mexico-arrests-leader-gang-accused-ordering-students-abduction\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; word-wrap: break-word; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; word-wrap: break-word; color: #0066cc;\">came under fire<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0from local police: 6 were killed and 25 wounded.
