Not after so much investment by American conservatives in Cold War 2.0.<\/p>\n<p>Russophobia is a 24\/7 industry, and all concerned, including its media vassals, remain absolutely livid with the \u201cdisgraceful\u201d Trump-Putin presser. Trump has \u201ccolluded with Russia.\u201d How could the President of the United States promote \u201cmoral equivalence\u201d with a \u201cworld-class thug\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Multiple opportunities for apoplectic outrage were in order.<\/p>\n<p>Trump: \u201cOur relationship has never been worse than it is now. However, that changed. As of about four hours ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Putin: \u201cThe United States could be more decisive in nudging Ukrainian leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump: \u201cThere was no collusion\u2026 I beat Hillary Clinton easily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Putin: \u201cWe should be guided by facts. Can you name a single fact that would definitively prove collusion? This is nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then, the clincher: the Russian president calls [Special Counsel] Robert Mueller\u2019s \u2018bluff\u2019, offering to interrogate the Russians indicted for alleged election meddling in the US if Mueller makes an official request to Moscow.
