Compliance will be voluntary at first, but it will become mandatory for all new vehicles by Jan. 2019. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13traffictwo.JPG?itok=mvTkUpH4\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13traffictwo.JPG?itok=mvTkUpH4\" data-link-option=\"0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13traffictwo.JPG\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/inline_image_desktop\/public\/inline-images\/2018.06.13traffictwo.JPG?itok=mvTkUpH4 1x\" alt=\"Trafic\" width=\"500\" height=\"294\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"fac1eabf-8d0d-4dcf-85cc-38b839b2321f\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Of course, the plan will dramatically expand China&#8217;s ability to track its citizens&#8217; every move &#8211; something that&#8217;s becoming increasingly important as Chinese authorities seek to implement their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-04-25\/youre-being-controlled-all-time-inside-look-chinas-social-credit-score\">&#8220;social credit score.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13socialcredit.jpg?itok=4rRcURsf\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13socialcredit.jpg?itok=4rRcURsf\" data-link-option=\"0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-images\/2018.06.13socialcredit.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/inline_image_desktop\/public\/inline-images\/2018.06.13socialcredit.jpg?itok=4rRcURsf 1x\" alt=\"social\" width=\"500\" height=\"1086\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"b3dd834d-6111-4aaf-a0ba-ff97d414f135\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s surveillance network already includes powerful cameras that can detect an individual&#8217;s facial features from 100 yards away, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-a-powerful-spy-camera-invented-at-duke-ended-up-in-chinas-hands-1528714895\">WSJ<\/a>.
