Foundation of Anti-Imperialism<\/a><\/h3>\n

The United States has had a policy of imperialism beginning after the Civil War. The\u00a0US way of war<\/a>, developed against Indigenous peoples, spread worldwide as the US sought to extend its power through military force, economic dominance and diplomatic hegemony.<\/p>\n

Imperialism is driven by what Rev.\u00a0Martin Luther King, Jr.<\/a>\u00a0identified at the end of his life,\u00a0the triple evils<\/a>\u00a0of racism, capitalism, and militarism. Lenin described\u00a0imperialism as the highest stage of capitalism<\/a>. Imperialism has justified mass slaughter<\/a>, resulting in the US killing\u00a020 million people since WW II<\/a>.\u00a0The People of the United States must say \u2018no\u2019 to imperialism.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Advocacy against imperialism is needed to prevent confusion around US militarism. The US disguises imperialism by attacking so-called \u201cdictatorial\u201d leaders who \u201cuse violence against their own people.\u201d This results in Orwellian-phrased \u201chumanitarian\u201d wars \u2013 violence by US surrogates inside a country, massive funding to create opposition against a government or economic sanctions that cause widespread suffering.<\/p>\n

The propaganda justifying these abuses hides the real intent \u2014 expansion of US domination so US corporations can profit from resources and cheap labor under a US-friendly government. People confused by this rhetoric sometimes repeat the propagandistic claims of US imperialists and help justify US intervention.<\/p>\n

Why US Imperialism Must Be Opposed Today<\/strong><\/p>\n

US imperialism is aggressively working on almost every continent through militarism, regime change, corporate trade agreements, economic blockades and creating indebtedness. The destruction of\u00a0Libya<\/a>, in an illegal \u201chumanitarian\u201d war, and the destruction of\u00a0Iraq, in a falsely justified war<\/a>, where both leaders were brutally assassinated, highlight the necessity of being clearly anti-imperialist.<\/p>\n

There are many countries suffering from US imperialism today. Here are just a few:<\/p>\n

Syria<\/strong>: Every president since the 1940s has\u00a0sought to dominate Syria<\/a>\u00a0and has had specific\u00a0plans for regime change<\/a>.<\/p>\n
