When Trump Met Fibonacci. And Won.<\/a><\/h3>\n

\nEdourd Manet A Bar at the Folies-Berg\u00e8re <\/b>1882<\/center>Something curious happened during the Trump love fest at the G7 over the weekend. And I don\u2019t think many people would have got it. In fact the entire western press, far as I could see, were blaming Trump for the dissolution of the treaties and whatall that the political class had worked so hard on for 50+ years.<\/p>\n

But when you look at the whole thing from an energy level, Trump obviously won hands down. Merkel, Macron and Trudeau had no idea what to do with such a disruptive figure -though it could hardly have been a surprise to them- and so they sort of cowered back into a defensive posture as a group, saying Trump shouldn\u2019t rock their boat. But that\u2019s what he came there to do.<\/p>\n

Now, these are all people who count as leaders in their own territories. They\u2019ve won elections, they\u2019re presidents and prime ministers. Not the kind of folk who like to see their authority questioned. But at the G7 they feel forced to move as a group. Which is not their thing, they\u2019re very much individuals. That\u2019s how they won their positions.<\/p>\n

Still, the only way they see as viable to counter Trump is as a group. Big Mistake. That\u2019s not their natural environment. Now they\u2019re out of their comfort zone, and Trump is still very much in his. Even more so as they\u2019re ganging up on him.<\/p>\n

At this point, it no longer matters what he says or does. Or what they do. It\u2019s all against one. And he\u2019s already won. But they don\u2019t know that game. They\u2019re used to being the one, not the all. They\u2019re doomed to lose this, because it\u2019s Trump\u2019s game, not theirs.<\/p>\n
