{"id":34294,"date":"2018-05-16T06:26:10","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T11:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=34294"},"modified":"2018-05-16T06:26:10","modified_gmt":"2018-05-16T11:26:10","slug":"europe-national-sovereignty-vs-international-conquest-at-stake-over-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=34294","title":{"rendered":"Europe: National Sovereignty vs. International Conquest, at Stake over Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"<header><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" title=\"Europe: National Sovereignty vs. International Conquest, at Stake over Iran\" src=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/images\/news\/2018\/05\/16\/or-40764.jpg\" alt=\"Europe: National Sovereignty vs. International Conquest, at Stake over Iran\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strategic-culture.org\/news\/2018\/05\/16\/europe-national-sovereignty-vs-international-conquest-stake-over-iran.html\">Europe: National Sovereignty vs. International Conquest, at Stake over Iran<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<p>Europe now faces its ultimate ideological fork-in-the-road, which it has thus far ignored but can no longer ignore: They need to decide whether they seek a world of nations that each is sovereign over its own territory but over no other (and this would not be a world at war); or whether they seek instead a world in which they are part of the American empire, a world based on conquests \u2014 NATO, IMF, World Bank, and the other US-controlled international institutions \u2014 and in which their own nation\u2019s citizens are subject to the dictatorship by America\u2019s aristocracy: the same super-rich individuals who effectively control the US Government itself (see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/archive.is\/aQIzs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/represent.us\/action\/theproblem-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 and that\u2019s dictatorship by the richest, in the United States).<\/p>\n<p>Iran has become this fateful fork-in-the-road, and the immediate issue here is America\u2019s cancellation of the Iran nuclear deal that America had signed along with 6 other countries, and America\u2019s consequent restoration of economic sanctions against Iran \u2014 sanctions against companies anywhere that continue trading with Iran. First, however, some essential historical background on that entire issue:<\/p>\n<p>The US aristocracy overthrew Iran\u2019s democratically elected Government in 1953 and imposed there a barbaric dictatorship which did the bidding of the US and allied aristocracies, by installing the Pahlavi Shah there, just as they had earlier,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/House_of_Saud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 1932, installed the Saud King in Saudi Arabia \u2014 which land never ever had known democracy<\/a>. As Wikipedia\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ibn_Saud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">says of Ibn Saud<\/a>, who became King in 1932, \u201cAfter World War I, he received further support from the British, including a glut of surplus munitions. He launched his campaign against the Al Rashidi in 1920; by 1922 they had been all but destroyed,\u201d with Britain\u2019s help. Similarly, the US and its British Imperial partner installed Pahlavi as Iran\u2019s Shah in 1953.
