The economic collapse of Venezuela, our own shaky markets and banking system, the threat of natural disasters, and worries about cyber attacks all have the potential to become life-changing catastrophes. These are the events we prep for and we clearly understand the ramifications of facing them without the necessary supplies.<\/p>\n<p>And many of us have friends and family <em>without<\/em> those necessary supplies.\u00a0Raise your hand if you have ever tried to convince loved ones to prep. \u00a0Yep, just as I thought. Hands everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Chances are that when you brought up the topic, your friends and family considered you anywhere on the nuts scale from \u201ca bit eccentric\u201d to \u201cdownright certifiable.\u201d If you\u2019ve ever broached the subject with them, the responses were probably one or more of the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLighten up!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI don\u2019t want to sit there and think about the bad things all day long.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYou don\u2019t need to worry about me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLive a little!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf the disaster is that bad, hopefully<\/em>, <em>I\u2019ll just die in it. Who\u2019d want to live in a world after ***fill in the disaster of your choice***\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHahahahahaha!!!!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYou worry too much.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ll just come to your house.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s the smug dismissal, the deer-in-headlights fear, the rolled eyes, and the outright denial that anything bad could ever happen to them. There\u2019s the justification of \u201cWe keep a case of water in the pantry at all times\u201d and the \u201cI have survival skills\u201d delusion. Most folks just don\u2019t even want to think about it.<\/p>\n<p>So. Incredibly.
