John Bolton is to assume the appointment as President Trump\u2019s National Security Adviser on April 9.\u00a0\u00a0On February 28 he wrote in\u00a0the Wall Street Journal<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cit is perfectly legitimate for the United States to respond to the current \u2018necessity\u2019 posed by North Korea\u2019s nuclear weapons by striking first,\u201d which would undoubtedly lead to explosion of at least one nuclear device by whoever might remain alive in the Pyongyang regime after the US attack. In a macabre echo of the alleged link between Iraq and Al Qaeda before the US invasion, Bolton\u00a0said on March 23<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cLittle is known, at least publicly, about longstanding Iranian-North Korean cooperation on nuclear and ballistic-missile technology. It is foolish to play down Tehran\u2019s threat because of Pyongyang\u2019s provocations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Link and bomb, and get ready for yet more war.<\/p>\n

On August 9, 2017 President Trump\u00a0tweeted<\/a>\u00a0\u201cMy first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n

This declaration of US achievement and nuclear policy was apparently intended to intimidate the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, who tested a nuclear-capable ballistic missile three months later, following which the US president issued an\u00a0insulting tweet<\/a>\u00a0that referred to him as \u201cLittle Rocket Man.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0The level of international dialogue and diplomacy sank to yet a new low which was enthusiastically reciprocated by Kim, but Trump gave a rare exhibition of common sense on\u00a0\u00a0November 11, 2017 by\u00a0asking<\/a>\u00a0\u201cWhen will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There [meaning\u00a0they\u2019re<\/em>] always playing politics \u2014 bad for our country . . .\u201d<\/p>\n
