But now Trump\u2019s presidency is turning into Bush\u2019s third term \u2026<\/p>\n

Trump is appointing John Bolton<\/em> as his National Security Adviser.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s Bolton?<\/p>\n

He\u2019s one of the key architects<\/a> of the Iraq war, who\u00a0 previously admitted that the Iraq war was about oil<\/a>, not protecting the United States from weapons of mass destruction. And see this<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has also openly called for partition<\/a> of Iraq and Syria into a number of different countries \u2026 as Bolton\u2019s beloved Neocons have been planning for over 20 years.<\/p>\n

John Bolton\u2019s appointment as national security adviser\u2014a post that requires no Senate confirmation\u2014puts the United States on a path to war. And it\u2019s fair to say President Donald Trump wants us on that path.<\/p>\n

Bolton has repeatedly called for launching a first strike on North Korea<\/a>, scuttling the nuclear arms deal with Iran<\/a>, and then bombing that country too. He says and writes these things not as part of some clever \u201cmadman theory\u201d to bring Kim Jong-un and the mullahs of Tehran to the bargaining table, but rather because he simply wants to destroy them and America\u2019s other enemies too.<\/p>\n

His agenda is not \u201cpeace through strength,\u201d the motto of more conventional Republican hawks that Trump included in a tweet on Wednesday<\/a>, but rather regime change through war. He is a neocon without the moral fervor of some who wear that label\u2014i.e., he is keen to topple oppressive regimes not in order to spread democracy but rather to expand American power.<\/p>\n
