Nor are these cases the result of Best Buy employees happening across potential illegal content on a device and alerting authorities. &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/cases\/fbi-geek-squad-informants-foia-suit\"><em>EFF.org<\/em><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Records posted Tuesday by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/deeplinks\/2018\/03\/geek-squads-relationship-fbi-cozier-we-thought\">Electronic Frontier Foundation<\/a> reveal that federal agents from the FBI&#8217;s Louisville division had\u00a0been paying Geek Squad informants for information that might kick off investigations related to their\u00a0&#8220;Computer Intrusion and Cyber Crime&#8221; program, according to the documents.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The documents released to EFF show that Best Buy officials have enjoyed a particularly close relationship with the agency for at least 10 years.
