Is the CIA So Bad that Even When It Tells the Truth It Adds-In Lies?<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n

On Sunday, February 17th<\/sup>, I was surprised to see\u00a0in\u00a0the reliably neoconservative newspaper,\u00a0New York Times, an \u2018opinion\u2019-article headlined with the distinctively\u00a0non-neoconservative title,\u00a0\u201cRussia Isn\u2019t the Only One Meddling\u00a0in\u00a0Elections. We Do It, Too.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0But, then, I got to the neocon core,\u00a0in\u00a0the article itself:<\/p>\n

But\u00a0in\u00a0recent decades, both Mr. Hall and Mr. Johnson argued, Russian and American interferences\u00a0in\u00a0elections have not been morally equivalent. American interventions have generally been aimed at helping non-authoritarian candidates challenge dictators or otherwise promoting democracy. Russia has more often intervened to disrupt democracy or promote authoritarian rule, they said.<\/em><\/p>\n

Equating the two, Mr. Hall says, \u201cis like saying cops and\u00a0bad\u00a0guys are the same because they both have guns \u2014 the motivation matters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

That\u2019s just a typical neocon lie \u2014 reality turned upside-down, black-is-white and white-is-black.<\/p>\n

When the\u00a0CIA\u00a0hired Iranian mercenaries to rebel against and overthrow the progressive democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister\u00a0Mohammed Mosaddegh<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a01953 and installed there a dictatorship (which lasted till 1979); and did the same to overthrow and replace the progressive democratically elected Guatemalan President\u00a0Jacobo Arbenz<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a01954; and, more recently,\u00a0in\u00a02009, helped Honduras\u2019s aristocracy to overthrow that country\u2019s progressive democratically elected President\u00a0Manuel Zelaya<\/a>, and to cement and make permanent their new and fascist regime; and,\u00a0in\u00a02014, perpetrated a brutal coup\u00a0in\u00a0Ukraine overthrowing that country\u2019s democratically elected but corrupt (like all prior post-communist Ukrainian Presidents were) President\u00a0Viktor Yanukovych<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0even\u00a0the Soviets (including the pre-1991 and pre-independent Russians) weren\u2019t that\u00a0bad; and\u00a0a 1992 classic BBC documentary<\/a>\u00a0about the\u00a0CIA\u2019s having set up\u00a0in\u00a0Western Europe during the Cold War numerous deadly terrorist incidents which were designed\u00a0so\u00a0as to be blamed on \u2018communists\u2019, makes clear, that the US\u00a0CIA\u00a0is a spiritual implant into the US Government, of Adolf Hitler\u2019s Nazi (but now American)\u00a0Gehlen Organization<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a darling of the\u00a0CIA\u00a0Director Alan Dulles, and which is still today the\u00a0CIA\u2019s spirit.<\/p>\n
