On Friday, more than 16 years after the 9\/11 attacks, US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said terrorism is no longer the No. 1 priority.\u201d The report said, \u201cMaintaining a military advantage over China and Russia is now Defense Secretary Mattis&#8217; top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On January 18th, the\u00a0Trump\u00a0Administration had issued its crucial document about how it will implement America\u2019s national defense from now on. This document, the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\">National Defense Strategy 2018<\/a><\/em>, represents a continuation of US President Barack Obama\u2019s vision and intentions, but extends Obama\u2019s hostility toward Russia, by adding\u00a0Trump\u2019s hostility toward China.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2017, US President Donald\u00a0Trump\u00a0had issued his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/NSS-Final-12-18-2017-0905.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/NSS-Final-12-18-2017-0905.pdf\">National Security Strategy 2018<\/a>\u00a0(the NSS2018); but, in keeping with his prior commitment to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/05\/12\/opinions\/trump-leave-it-to-the-generals-policy-is-risky-opinion-kirby\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/05\/12\/opinions\/trump-leave-it-to-the-generals-policy-is-risky-opinion-kirby\/index.html\">leaving to the generals the implementation<\/a>\u00a0of his national security policy, the Pentagon has now issued this\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\">National Defense Strategy 2018<\/a><\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>(the NDS2018), which is signed only by\u00a0Trump\u2019s minister for\u00a0war\u00a0(Secretary of \u2018Defense\u2019), \u201cJim Mattis\u201d; and it\u2019s considerably more informative on what the practical meaning of NSS2018 will be. The meaning is: the replacement of hostility against \u201cradical Islamic terrorism,\u201d by hostility against Russia and China \u2014 this, the building upon Obama\u2019s imperial vision, is now\u00a0Trump\u2019s \u2018Defense\u2019 policy.\u00a0Trump\u2019s campaign talk against \u2018radical Islamic terrorism\u2019 was merely bumper-sticker stuff, to win votes.<\/p>\n<p>In continuation from Obama&#8217;s\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2015\/02\/obamas-new-national-security-strategy-rabidly-anti-russian.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonsblog.com\/2015\/02\/obamas-new-national-security-strategy-rabidly-anti-russian.html\">National Security Strategy 2015<\/a><\/em>, which had accused Russia 18 times of \u201caggression,\u201d\u00a0Trump\u2019s\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/pubs\/2018-National-Defense-Strategy-Summary.pdf\">National Defense Strategy 2018<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(NDS2018) effectively declares at least an economic\u00a0war\u00a0against Russia (as if economics were also in General Mattis\u2019s portfolio), but it goes even further to include China as being now also America\u2019s enemy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;click on the above link to read the rest of the article&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trump Officially Restores Cold War On January 20th, CBS News bannered\u00a0\u201cTerrorism no longer the military&#8217;s top priority, Mattis says\u201d\u00a0and opened: \u201cThere is a major change in US military strategy.
