Turkey Slams ‘Allies’ For Sending “Planeloads Of Arms” To Terrorists Ahead Of Emergency UN Session<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has turned on Ankara\u2019s allies, insinuating that the US in particular has been providing massive military support to Kurdish YPG in Syria.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In a speech to his ruling AK Party, RT reports <\/a>that Erdogan said that \u2018some allies\u2019 of Turkey had provided the YPG Syrian Kurdish militia with 2,000 planeloads and 5,000 truckloads of weapons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, apart from 5,000 trucks, there are weapons and ammunition from around 2,000 planes.\u201d<\/strong> the Turkish leader said.<\/p>\n

He also accused Ankara\u2019s allies of dishonesty when they say that they do not provide weapons for \u201cterrorists,\u201d<\/strong>referring to Kurdish-linked YPG forces.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It was not just Washington that Turkish officials were accusing, they specifically accused France of supporting terrorism ahead of an emergency UN session set for Monday<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

“Anyone who opposes Turkey\u2019s operation in northern Syria\u2019s Afrin region is siding with terrorists and will be treated accordingly,”<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu\u00a0said\u00a0on Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We hope France will support Turkey’s operation against terrorists in Syria,”<\/strong> the minister added in reference to what Turkey has dubbed ‘Operation Olive Branch’.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After the Turkish military\u00a0invaded northwest Syria<\/a>\u00a0over the weekend in an operation that President\u00a0Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan described as cleaning out Kurdish “terror nests”, France called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council.<\/p>\n

FM \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu’s words were given in warning to French politicians who say\u00a0they will take up the issue of Turkish aggression at the UN.\u00a0<\/strong>France has urged Turkey to exercise restraint in its air and land assault targeting US-backed Kurdish forces in Afrin, near Turkey’s border.<\/p>\n
