Project Veritas Exposes Twitter “Shadow Banning”, Blocking Opposing Views<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

In the latest of a series of undercover operations targeting the mainstream media\u00a0and now Social Media<\/em>, James O’Keefe of Project Veritas has just dropped a\u00a0new undercover video<\/strong>\u00a0which reveals\u00a0Twitter<\/strong>\u00a0“shadow banning” and creating algorithms that censor certain ideas.<\/p>\n

The first clip features a former Twitter software engineer who explains how\/why Twitter “shadow bans” certain users:<\/p>\n

Abhinav Vadrevu<\/strong><\/u>:\u00a0 “One strategy is to shadow ban so you have ultimate control. The idea of a shadow ban is that you ban someone but they don’t know they’ve been banned, because they keep posting but no one sees their content.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“So they just think that no one is engaging with their content, when in reality, no one is seeing it. I don’t know if Twitter does this anymore.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, Olinda Hassan, a Policy Manager for Twitter\u2019s Trust and Safety team explains on December 15th, 2017 at a Twitter holiday party that the development of a system of \u201cdown ranking\u201d \u201cshitty people\u201d is in the works:<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. That\u2019s something we\u2019re working on. It\u2019s something we\u2019re working on. We\u2019re trying to get the shitty people to not show up. It\u2019s a product thing we\u2019re working on right now.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In the full video (see below) Twitter Content Review Agent Mo Nora explains that Twitter doesn’t have an official written policy that targets conservative speech, but rather they were following “unwritten rules from the top”:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of unwritten rules, and being that we\u2019re in San Francisco, we\u2019re in California, very liberal, a very blue state. <\/strong>You had to be\u2026 I mean as a company you can\u2019t really say it because it would make you look bad, but behind closed doors are lots of rules.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere was, I would say\u2026 Twitter was probably about 90% Anti-Trump, maybe 99% Anti-Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
