[Not that vague is a new tactic for him. Five years ago,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\">Chris Nelder<\/span>\u00a0offered a concise\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a style=\"text-decoration: none; color: #1d5f83;\" title=\"analysis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.getreallist.com\/reading-peak-oil-deniers-is-a-waste-of-time.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">analysis<\/strong><\/span><\/a><em style=\"font-style: italic;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u00a0of Lynch\u2019s work, and not much appears to have changed]:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><span id=\"more-8011\"><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"background-image: url('http:\/\/peakoilmatters.com\/wp-content\/themes\/rt\/images\/blockquote.gif'); background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: #edf1f5; word-wrap: break-word; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden; background-position: 3px 3px; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat; padding: 8px 12px 8px 40px; margin: 5px 0px 5px 0px; border: 1px solid #dddddd;\">\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em style=\"font-style: italic;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">With a background in political science, Lynch puts his rhetorical skills to work as an avid peak oil denier, despite seeming to live in an alternate universe when it comes to the actual data\u2026.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em style=\"font-style: italic;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">He has carried on a vigorous disinformation campaign against peak oil theory for nearly two decades, sticking to his guns despite all factual evidence to the contrary.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em style=\"font-style: italic;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">For those allergic to facts and reality, it\u2019s easy to understand the consternation expressed by Lynch and his peers. Their antidote\u2014make pronouncements and assume they will serve as the last word\u2014is consistent with their avoid-evidence-at-all-costs approach to a subject with (I assume) unfortunate personal ramifications to their professional efforts.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><em style=\"font-style: italic;\"><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;\">No doubt adding to their consternation is the fact that some of us poor souls still rely on facts and evidence and reality to make determinations on matters of importance, and \u201camazingly\u201d we believe that the concepts embraced under the peak oil umbrella are quite believable. We\u2019re willing to review evidence, of course.
