{"id":28048,"date":"2017-11-16T19:23:10","date_gmt":"2017-11-17T00:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=28048"},"modified":"2017-11-16T19:23:10","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T00:23:10","slug":"keystone-xl-pipeline-shut-down-after-5000-barrel-spill-in-south-dakota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=28048","title":{"rendered":"Keystone XL Pipeline Shut Down After 5,000-Barrel Spill In South Dakota"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2017-11-16\/keystone-xl-pipeline-shut-down-after-5000-barrel-spill-south-dakota\">Keystone XL Pipeline Shut Down After 5,000-Barrel Spill In South Dakota<\/a><\/h3>\n<section class=\"node node-type-story node-full node-nid-607427\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n<p>Well this is awkward.\u00a0 After months\/years of protests targeting the Keystone XL pipeline from environmentalists worried about oil spills, TransCanada has now been forced to shut down the pipeline following&#8230;drum roll please&#8230;a 5,000 barrel oil spill in South Dakota.\u00a0 According to <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/energy-environment\/360777-keystone-pipeline-shut-down-after-spilling-5000-barrels-of-oil-in\">The Hill<\/a>, the pipeline was taken offline at 6am this morning following a leak that was discovered about 35 miles south of a pumping station in Marshall County, South Dakota.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Workers took the Keystone oil pipeline offline on Thursday after it spilled 5,000 barrels of oil in rural South Dakota,<\/strong>officials said.<\/p>\n<p>A TransCanada crew shut down the pipeline at 6 a.m. Thursday morning after detecting an oil leak along the line, the company said.
