I got push back from readers when I dissed some flavorless suburban\u00a0condo complexes<\/a>\u00a0in the context of\u00a0urban agriculture<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0my blog<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n

My observation was meant to be simple. We\u2019re on a trajectory of ever larger, more complex, and highly leveraged institutional \u201csolutions\u201d to endemic social and economic problems that don\u2019t actually make things better. Quite the opposite.\u00a0What we need are small, direct, hyper local, and incremental responses that address immediate needs at a very low burn rate. This was misinterpreted as, \u201cOh, you think growing zucchini is more important than solving the housing crisis for working families.\u201d\u00a0Not what I\u2019m saying. At all.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
