The completion of the four-year project is said to connect the tiny Arctic coastal town of\u00a0Tuktoyaktuk with the rest of the communities to provide better transportation for residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We think there could be\u00a0another reason why\u00a0Canada would build a highway to nowhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As explained by one citizen in the video below, <strong>the new route is called \u2018road to resources\u2019, it\u2019s where major reserves of oil and gas reside, and at one time inaccessible due to poor infrastructure.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"max-width-video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"fitvid877593\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9_w3ytpcXd8\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The all-season 137-kilometer highway is the first of its kind that connects Inuvik to\u00a0Hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk. <\/strong>The traditional route to\u00a0Tuktoyaktuk involved ice roads in the winter, but as the seasons changed those roads were inaccessible. In the summer, the only way to travel north was by plane, which made it difficult to transport goods.
