Canberra would also phase out subsidies for renewable energy from 2020. \u201cPast energy plans have subsidised some industries, punished others and slugged consumers,\u201d said Malcolm Turnbull, prime minister. \u201cOur plan has no subsidies, no certificates and no tax\u201d.
