And what is &#8220;the most likely causes of a shift to \u2018flight mode\u2019 and a rise in volatility? Here\u2019s one possibility: <strong>by the end of next year, the combined expansion of all the major Central Bank balance sheets will have collapsed from a 12 month growth rate of $2 trillion per annum to zero.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user5\/imageroot\/2017\/10\/01\/DB%20central%20bank%20balance%20sheet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/user5\/imageroot\/2017\/10\/01\/DB%20central%20bank%20balance%20sheet_0.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But before we get to the inevitable next step, here&#8217;s Deutsche Bank on how we got to the current state of paralytic complacency, or whatever one wants to call it.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, the wire headlines were catchy: \u201c<strong>Nobel prize winner Thaler admits to not understanding the low volatility in the stock market<\/strong>.\u201d The behavioural economist went on to note that investors appeared to be in \u201cfreeze\u201d rather than \u201cflight mode\u201d.
