According to public policy polling conducted by <a href=\"https:\/\/epic.uchicago.edu\/news-events\/news\/infographic-where-americans-stand-climate-and-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"caps\">AP<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"caps\">NORC<\/span> and the Energy Policy Institute at The University of Chicago<\/a>, 61% of American citizens believe that climate change is a threat that the federal government should\u00a0actively work\u00a0to prevent.
