One thing I found universally true is the more effective and higher-level a groups (<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2xX1NPV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Delta<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jOd1jr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Special Forces<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2wGl0F8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Navy SEALS<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2wFkEP7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S.A.S<\/a>, etc, the more they wargame their scenarios and specific missions.<\/p>\n<p>These practice run-throughs (drills, exercises, dress rehearsals) includes everything from being generally prepared for possible missions to building mock-up buildings and neighborhoods and using all available intel to make things as realistic as possible. I\u2019m not saying that you need to be prepared for emergencies to that level (this is their job), but I think you do need to use dress rehearsals to flush out vulnerabilities and deficiencies in your plan(s), and the more realistic you make these rehearsals, the better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/news-release\/2015\/04\/28\/sixty-percent-americans-not-practicing-disaster-fema-urges-everyone-prepare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2015 FEMA report<\/a>, 60% of Americans aren\u2019t practicing for disasters.<\/strong> Pretty much every part of your emergency plan (<a href=\"http:\/\/graywolfsurvival.com\/1179\/how-to-family-emergency-communication-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">your family emergency communications plan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/graywolfsurvival.com\/1014\/how-to-plan-bugout-route\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bug out route plan<\/a>, using a <a href=\"http:\/\/graywolfsurvival.com\/2716\/ham-radio-best-shtfdisaster-communication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ham radio<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2jR29RS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dealing with medical emergencies<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2xosYQC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surviving in the woods<\/a>, dealing with a power outage at home, and many, many other topics, require hands-on training as well as just walking through the plan you currently have so you can update it and try again. The danger is that if you don\u2019t actually walk through the process in a semi-realistic fashion, you won\u2019t realize you\u2019re not prepared until it\u2019s too late.
