Parts of Southeast Texas have now seen 50 inches of rain since Friday \u2014 and the rain is still falling.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<section class=\"post-content\">\u201cThe record for total rainfall from a tropical system has been BROKEN!\u201d the National Weather Service\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSHouston\/status\/902552433645277184\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tweeted<\/a>\u00a0Tuesday morning. The previous record for wettest tropical system in the continental United States was 48 inches.
