China is slowing down according to official statistics, and even more according to whispered accounts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 1em 0px 1em 0px;\">Germany, France and the Netherlands are all at stall speed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 1em 0px 1em 0px;\">According to the BLS, the United States is doing just great at nearly 4% growth for two straight quarters, but you wouldn&#8217;t know that\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 12.7272720336914px; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">either\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">from the quality of the few jobs being created (which is low) or from consumer spending (also low).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 1em 0px 1em 0px;\">The worry, as always, has nothing to do with the central banks&#8217; concern for you, your job, your children, the actual prices you pay, wealth equality,\u00a0<em>or\u00a0<\/em>the future, and\u00a0<em>everything<\/em>\u00a0to do with the simple fact that the stability of the banking system absolutely depends on a steady stream of new loans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 0px; margin: 1em 0px 1em 0px;\">The problem, as always, is that we have a monetary system that is either expanding or collapsing.
