Mr Creosote:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cNo. F**k off. I\u2019m full\u2026\u201d<\/em> [Belches]<\/p>\n

Maitre D\u2019:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cOh, sir\u2026 it\u2019s only wafer thin.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr Creosote:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cLook \u2013 I couldn\u2019t eat another thing. I\u2019m absolutely stuffed. Bugger off.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Maitre D\u2019:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cOh, sir, just\u2026 just one\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr Creosote:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cOh, all right. Just one.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Maitre D\u2019:<\/b>\u00a0\u201cJust the one, sir\u2026 voila\u2026 bon appetit\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

[Mr Creosote somehow manages to stuff the wafer-thin mint into his mouth and then swallows. The Maitre D\u2019 takes a flying leap and cowers behind some potted plants. There is an ominous splitting sound. Mr Creosote looks rather helpless and then he explodes, covering waiters, diners, and technicians in a truly horrendous mix of half digested food, entrails, and parts of his body. People start vomiting.]<\/p>\n

Maitre D\u2019:<\/b> [returns to Mr Creosote\u2019s table] Thank you, sir, and now the check.<\/p>\n

The Monty Python skit depicted has a lot of truth in it.<\/p>\n

Only idiots refuse to acknowledge excess. Society is littered with examples of the consequences. Eating too much results in indigestion and lethargy, and, if done, regularly obesity and an early grave.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d be forgiven for thinking that these simple truths don\u2019t or won\u2019t apply to the financial markets.<\/p>\n

Indeed, the GFC was but one of the last examples of such excess, and Canada\u2019s own Real estate market is now suffering what Mr Creosote suffered.<\/p>\n

There are naturally other examples, many covered in my subscriber-only publication<\/a>, but there is one elephant in the room worth looking at:<\/p>\n

How out of date can it actually be, you might ask? Heck, it\u2019s less than a month old.<\/p>\n
