Conversely, most free people today would view Orwell\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/1984-GEORGE-ORWELL\/dp\/9381607796\/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1492552210&amp;sr=1-5&amp;keywords=orwell+1984\"><strong>\u201c1984\u201d<\/strong><\/a> as a dystopian nightmare, and shudder to contemplate the terrifying existence under the iron fist of <em>\u201cBig Brother\u201d;<\/em> the ubiquitous figurehead of a perfectly totalitarian government.<\/p>\n<p>Although both men were of British descent, Huxley was nine years older than Orwell and published Brave New World in 1932, seventeen years before 1984 was released in 1949. Both books are widely considered classics and are included in the Modern Library\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Modern_Library_100_Best_Novels\"><strong>top ten great novels<\/strong><\/a> of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n<p><u><\/u><strong><u>Brave New World<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aldous Huxley was born to academic parents and he was the grandson of Thomas Henry Huxley, a famous biologist and an enthusiastic proponent of Darwin\u2019s Theory of Evolution who was known as \u201cDarwin\u2019s Bulldog\u201d. Huxley\u2019s own father had a well-equipped botanical laboratory where young Aldous began his education.
