(Photo credit: New Media Days \/ Peter Erichsen)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>That revelation emerged from documents that WikiLeaks published on Tuesday from a CIA archive that WikiLeaks said had apparently been passed around within a community of former U.S. government hackers and contractors before one of them gave WikiLeaks some of the material.<\/p>\n<p>The documents revealed that the CIA can capture the content of encrypted Internet and cell-phone messages by grabbing the material in the fraction of a second before the words are put through encryption.<\/p>\n<p>Another program called \u201cWeeping Angel\u201d can hack Samsung \u201csmart\u201d TVs with built-in Internet connections, allowing the CIA and British intelligence to covertly use the TVs as listening devices even when they appear to be turned off.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the\u00a0<em>1984<\/em>-ish aspects of these reported capabilities \u2013 Orwell\u2019s dystopia also envisioned TVs being used to spy on people in their homes \u2013 the WikiLeaks\u2019 disclosures add a new layer of mystery to whether the Russians were behind the \u201chacks\u201d of the Democratic Party or whether Moscow was framed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;click on the above link to read the rest of the article&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh Doubts about Russian \u2018Hacking\u2019 Exclusive:\u00a0The gauzy allegations of Russia \u201chacking\u201d the Democrats to elect Donald Trump just got hazier with WikiLeaks\u2019 new revelations about CIA cyber-spying and the capability to pin the blame on others, reports Robert Parry.
