{"id":23040,"date":"2017-02-28T19:50:34","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T00:50:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=23040"},"modified":"2017-02-28T19:50:34","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T00:50:34","slug":"whats-so-bad-about-globalism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=23040","title":{"rendered":"What\u2019s So Bad About Globalism?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"center\">\n<h3 class=\"title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/takimag.com\/article\/whats_so_bad_about_globalism_jim_goad\">What\u2019s So Bad About Globalism?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div class=\"atclear\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/takimag.com\/images\/uploads\/globalism_pixabay.jpg\" alt=\"What\u2019s So Bad About Globalism?\" width=\"270\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"post\">\n<div class=\"img_article\"><span class=\"byline\">photo credit: Pixabay<\/span><\/div>\n<p>As far as I can tell, globalism is a scheme concocted by the rich to destroy the working and middle classes through worldwide financial imperialism.<\/p>\n<p>I have a strong hunch that globalism is also a plot hatched to obliterate indigenous cultures and real human differences under the deceptive ruses of \u201cmulticulturalism\u201d and \u201cdiversity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is why I\u2019m confused whenever I hear someone say they hate \u201cthe rich,\u201d oppose \u201cimperialism,\u201d and support \u201cthe working class\u201d while being an unquestioning cheerleader for open borders and global government.<\/p>\n<p>Like Marxism\u2019s pipe dreams about an eventual and irreversible dictatorship of the proletariat, the most seductive hook about globalism is the idea that it\u2019s inevitable. Technology has made us an increasingly interconnected planet, and therefore the only logical and moral thing to do is establish a benevolent global governmental authority with the power to tax and imprison and torture and abuse.<\/p>\n<p>But communism proved to be far from inevitable. After peaking last century, it has retreated from much of the globe. I\u2019d like to think the same is true about the one-world-government schemes that underpin what is cheerily referred to as \u201cglobalism.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"pullquote\">\u201cGlobalism will only replace wars between nations with wars within former nations.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>I suppose that if you fetishize some dimwitted internationalist abstraction of the global \u201cworking class,\u201d globalism may suit your emotional needs and your complicated bourgeois psychological issues regarding \u201cwealth guilt\u201d just fine.
