The Solas undersea cable \u2013 which links Ireland\u2019s County Wexford to Wales \u2013 is included in the list.<\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-size: 1.5em; line-height: 1.4em; padding: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 15px 0px;\">The method of access is described as being\u00a0<em style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-style: italic; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">\u201cDCO,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0which stands for\u00a0<em style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-style: italic; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">\u201cdirect cable ownership.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-size: 1.5em; line-height: 1.4em; padding: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 15px 0px;\">According to the document, Cable &amp; Wireless\u00a0<em style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-style: italic; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">\u201cactively shaped and provided the most data to GCHQ mass surveillance programmes, and received millions of pounds in compensation.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0It added that Cable &amp; Wireless apparently played a key role\u00a0<em style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-style: italic; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;\">\u201cin the establishment of one of the Government Communications Headquarters\u2019 (GCHQ) most controversial surveillance programs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; font-size: 1.5em; line-height: 1.4em; padding: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 15px 0px;\">&#8230;click on the above link to read the rest of the article&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Britain\u2019s GCHQ monitored Irish internet traffic \u2014 RT News.
