(Mark Duncan\/Associated Press)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wrap8 story-bodywrapper sclt-storybody\">\n<div class=\"story-body\">\n<div class=\"story-content\">\n<p>A former Bank of Canada governor says renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement with president-elect Donald Trump will be dangerous for Canada&#8217;s automotive industry.<\/p>\n<p>Part of Trump&#8217;s win has been credited to voters in the rust belt \u2014\u00a0Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and\u00a0Pennsylvania \u2014 where his anti\u2013trade and protectionist promises played well with the electorate.<\/p>\n<div>And he&#8217;ll remain beholden to those voters if he wants to stay in power, says Dodge.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to have more of our classic border skirmishes with the Americans. The Canada-U.S. border will get thicker.
