{"id":19617,"date":"2016-04-07T10:44:25","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T15:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=19617"},"modified":"2016-04-07T10:44:25","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T15:44:25","slug":"george-soros-targeting-putin-through-the-panama-papers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=19617","title":{"rendered":"George Soros Targeting Putin through the Panama Papers?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"article-title\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.geopoliticalmonitor.com\/george-soros-targeting-putin-through-the-panama-papers\/\" target=\"_blank\">George Soros Targeting Putin through the Panama Papers?<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-thumbnail alignright\" title=\"George Soros, cc Flickr  Heinrich-B\u00f6ll-Stiftung, modified, https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/2.0\/\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn4.geopoliticalmonitor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Soro-300x270.jpg\" alt=\"George Soros, cc Flickr Heinrich-B\u00f6ll-Stiftung, modified, https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/2.0\/\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Panama Papers represent the biggest document leak of the modern era, and George Soros apparently has a role.<\/p>\n<p>The scandal that has erupted after the publication of the Mossack Fonseca law firm\u2019s so-called \u201cPanama Papers\u201d \u00a0was organized by the US Centers for investigations on corruption and organized crime using US government funds and donations from billionaire George Soros, according to \u201cWikiLeaks\u201d \u2013 which itself became famous for the dissemination of classified high-profile information.<\/p>\n<p>Wikileaks tweeted: \u201c#PanamaPapers\u00a0Putin attack was produced by OCCRP which targets Russia &amp; former USSR and was funded by USAID &amp; Soros.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the Panama Papers investigations obtained financial support from the Democracy Fund of the United Nations, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Soros\u2019 Open Society Foundation. USAID is the US administration\u2019s central body for managing aid to government and foreign non-governmental institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Panama Papers, so named because they reveal the dealings of one Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca that has allegedly managed billions of dollars\u2019 worth of filtered assets on behalf of the world\u2019s richest and most powerful. Given the whims of defamation law, we stress that people, fabulously wealthy though they may be, have legitimate reasons for using entities such as Mossack Fonseca.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we do not assume that any Mossack Fonseca customer was necessarily breaking any laws. Indeed, forming shell companies does not necessarily prove that anybody has committed a crime. Yet, one of the most obvious aspects of the Papers is that the disclosures largely concern those in disfavor with either Soros or the United States.
