{"id":1941,"date":"2014-11-23T07:56:07","date_gmt":"2014-11-23T12:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=1941"},"modified":"2014-11-23T07:56:07","modified_gmt":"2014-11-23T12:56:07","slug":"forget-orwell-and-rand-weve-gone-to-full-on-plato-first-rebuttal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olduvai.ca\/?p=1941","title":{"rendered":"Forget Orwell and Rand, We\u2019ve Gone to Full On Plato | First Rebuttal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstrebuttal.com\/2014\/11\/21\/forget-orwell-and-rand-weve-gone-to-full-on-plato\/\">Forget Orwell and Rand, We\u2019ve Gone to Full On Plato | First Rebuttal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 24px 0px;\">Lately, we hear a lot about Orwell\u2019s \u201c1984\u2033 and Rand\u2019s \u201cAtlas Shrugged\u201d but perhaps the best\u00a0crystal ball\u00a0to our current state of affairs\u00a0is Plato\u2019s Republic.\u00a0 You see both Rand and Orwell were describing a world outside of themselves.\u00a0 A world they couldn\u2019t understand or accept.\u00a0 And while those works are brilliant and incredibly prophetic, I expect that\u00a0to understand\u00a0a world borne\u00a0of narcissistic sociopathy\u00a0one must\u00a0examine the construct of such\u00a0a world by a narcissistic sociopath.\u00a0\u00a0Fortunately Plato, perhaps the world\u2019s most\u00a0(in)famous narcissistic sociopath,\u00a0provided us a\u00a0vivid illustration and explanation\u00a0of his\u00a0ideal state in \u201cPlato\u2019s Republic\u201d.\u00a0 Plato provides us the why to Orwell\u2019s and Rand\u2019s \u2018unideal\u2019 states.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 24px 0px;\">Plato provides the arguments\u00a0for the\u00a0philosopher kings.\u00a0 He also\u00a0describes\u00a0various levels of reality,\u00a0arguing that each\u00a0societal\u00a0demographic\u00a0must live within the reality level delegated to them.\u00a0 He argues\u00a0each demographic has a limited\u00a0intellectual\u00a0capacity and thus can only handle\u00a0the reality level\u00a0provided to them.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0With the philosopher kings being the only\u00a0societal demographic\u00a0with the\u00a0right to\u00a0and capacity\u00a0for\u00a0absolute truth.\u00a0 Likewise, the philosophers kings in the world we find ourselves today control each and every aspect of life\u00a0including our subsequent perception of\u00a0the world.\u00a0 There is no such thing as happenstance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 24px 0px;\">&#8230;click on the above link to read the rest of the article&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forget Orwell and Rand, We\u2019ve Gone to Full On Plato | First Rebuttal.
