In this case, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/local\/environment\/article64667452.html\" target=\"_blank\">leak<\/a>appears to be emanating from the aging canals in the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Station located nearby.<\/p>\n<div class=\"insert-post-ads\"><i>\u201cThis is one of several things we were very worried about,\u201d<\/i>\u00a0said South Miami Mayor and biological sciences professor, Philip Stoddard,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miaminewtimes.com\/news\/turkey-point-nuclear-plant-is-pumping-polluted-water-into-biscayne-bay-8304252\" target=\"_blank\">as the\u00a0<i>Miami New Times<\/i>\u00a0reported<\/a>.\u00a0<i>\u201cYou would have to work hard to find a worse place to put a nuclear plant, right between two national parks and subject to hurricanes and storm surge.\u201d<\/i><\/div>\n<p>Biscayne Bay harbors one of the largest coral reefs on the planet and is situated near the Everglades.
