Talking about\u00a0a possible foreign ground invasion in\u00a0Syria, Assad did not rule out\u00a0the possibility of\u00a0a Saudi, Turkish intervention saying, “Logically, intervention is not possible, but\u00a0sometimes reality is at\u00a0odds with\u00a0logic, particularly when there are irrational people leading a certain state. That\u2019s why I don\u2019t rule that out\u00a0for a simple reason: Erdogan is a fanatical person with\u00a0Muslim Brotherhood inclinations. He is living the Ottoman dream. For him, the collapse which took place in\u00a0Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Syria is something personal.””This threatens his political future on\u00a0the one hand, and his fanatical Islamist ambitions on\u00a0the other. He believes that he has an Islamist mission in\u00a0our region. The same applies to\u00a0Saudi Arabia. The collapse of\u00a0the terrorists in\u00a0Syria is a collapse of\u00a0their policies. I tell you that this process is surely not going to\u00a0be easy for\u00a0them, and we will certainly confront it,\u201d Assad said in\u00a0an interview as\u00a0cited by\u00a0Syrian official agency\u00a0SANA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Talking about\u00a0the current situation in\u00a0Syria and the coverage of\u00a0the\u00a0Syrian crisis<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Western media, Assad said, “The cause of\u00a0this suffering is the terrorists, not the Russian shelling, as\u00a0claimed by\u00a0Western media, and when one cause for\u00a0migration is the almost five-year-old embargo against\u00a0the Syrian people, naturally my, and every Syrian official\u2019s first task, is to\u00a0fight terrorism essentially using Syrian capabilities, but\u00a0also using our friends\u2019 support in\u00a0the fight against\u00a0terrorism.<\/p>\n
